Working in coastal regions in Kenya and in Bangladesh, this project carried out participatory workshops, focus groups and feedback meetings with national, regional and local decision makers. The objective was to apply mathematical and computational tools to help understand 'how decisions get made' in the context of socio-economic changes in the regions and in linkages between ecosystem services and poverty alleviation.
The analytical tools included Social Network Mapping and Agent-Based Modelling. For more information on the project and the methods used see here.
Partners included BCAS and CEGIS based in Dhaka and in the SW Bangladesh study area (shown here) Shushilan. In the south coast of Kenya the partners were CORDIO and KMFRI.
