Engagement of vulnerable communities in decision making processes on climate related adaptation strategies
Activities
By strengthening the capacity of vulnerable communities, the project aims to increase the resilience of poor people to cope with and adapt to the adverse impacts of climate change. Outputs from the project were: 1. Community based disaster preparedness plans; 2. Implementation of sustainable technologies for natural resource management, water conservation and agriculture. 3. Capacity building of support institutions, local and regional stakeholders to incorporate community based climate change mitigation strategies into development planning and natural resource management strategies; and 4. Effective changes in policy and practice at local, regional and international levels to support community based climate change adaptation measures.
