YCI works with YMCAs and other youth organisations around the world, to help disadvantaged and vulnerable young people enrich their lives and to build a more just world, free from poverty.
Our programmes include disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and humanitarian response, livelihoods, health, justice, and peacebuilding. We have several years of experience in supporting our partners to facilitate youth-led DRR activities in a variety of contexts – including sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and South and South-East Asia.
Having established ourselves as one of the leading organisations on youth-led DRR, we are now expanding our area of focus to include resilience and climate change adaptation for young people. We also have a strong focus on learning, and partner with leading research centres such as King’s College London to develop and improve our understanding of DRR, climate change and livelihoods in specific contexts, improve our programmes, and ultimately strive to reach our vision of a world where the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people are transformed.
