The Center for Studies and Disaster Prevention - PREDES - is a non-governmental, nonprofit organization created in 1983 to help reduce vulnerability and disaster risk in Peru.
PREDES promotes disaster risk management as a tool for sustainable development. It works in several regions of the country, primarily in the most susceptible to risks, performing risk studies, providing technical assistance and promoting education and citizen participation in coordination with local and regional governments and public and private institutions. It promotes the incorporation of disaster risk management in the development process in order to create a safe and healthy habitat.
