The PRC is a major humanitarian organization based in Mandaluyong, Philippines. It provides life-saving services to protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. It offers humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine, therapeutic counseling and youth leadership. At present, its major services are: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services.
The Philippine Red Cross aims to provide a sustained and effective humanitarian service committed to build resilient communities. Disaster Management Services (DMS), as one of its major services is primarily tasked to deliver humanitarian assistance during emergency and disaster situations. DMS has a significant role to build the capacity of communities to minimize the risks, and to immediately cope and recover after the impact of disasters. The PRC also works on the provision, restoration and improvement of shelter, livelihood, and basic community facilities, to improve living conditions and reduce disaster risk, supporting long-term approaches of building back better and safer.
