Niwaafa (Nigerian Women Agro Allied Farmers Association) is a non-governmental, rural based national association of women farmers. Niwaafa currently operates in 36 States plus FCT in Nigeria and has a membership base of over 6700 members.
Niwaafa practices environment friendly farming and in 2012 launched a campaign on Gender and Environmental Friendly Agriculture. Today, Niwaafa works on climate change and its effects on agriculture and is part of the team that formulated Nigerian Climate Change National Adaptation Strategy in 2013. Since 2014 Niwaafa's work has been based on ecosystem adaptation for food security in Africa.
Niwaafa members include farmers in crops, poultry and fisheries, all of whom process and market their own farm produce.
