Grow-A-Tree Foundation's (GATF) main objective is to mitigate and address the causes and effects of deforestation in Africa through an aggressive and holistic tree planting and sustainable agro-forestry programmes in cities, industrial, commercial, farming and rural community settings.
It further endeavors to promote reforestation in Africa by initiating, developing and supporting systematic tree planting programmes; promoting the utilisation of renewable energy sources thereby reducing dependence on fuel wood by both urban, rural and farming communities; promoting the design, manufacture and distribution of efficient heating and cooking equipment and utensils which are powered by sustainable, renewable energy sources; initiating and supporting education and communication campaigns throughout primary and secondary schools; managing essay competitions to ensure optimum participation and provide rewards for excellence and engage into partnerships with various community leaders for a long term growth oriented programme; and facilitating the raising of funds for worthwhile environmental projects.
