Guided by science and economics, we tackle urgent threats with practical solutions. We're one of the world's largest environmental organizations, with more than two million members and a staff of 700 scientists, economists, policy experts, and other professionals around the world. We believe prosperity and environmental stewardship must go hand in hand. We build strong partnerships across interests to ensure lasting success. We address today's most urgent environmental challenges. Working in partnership with others, we focus where we're best positioned to help, based on our strengths. Our main areas of work are oceans, climate and energy, health and ecosystems.
Even as the administration in Washington ignores the dangers of climate change, we have reasons to hope. We work in helping overhaul rules that restrict the new energy market, while pushing for limits on carbon pollution, like the Clean Power Plan. We're targeting key states to pass methane standards, and making the case for fixing methane leaks across the supply chain. We're working with China's government on market-based solutions to cut emissions, as well as advancing economic concepts and market mechanisms that help increase the value of rainforests.
