Tom Downing - SEI

Thomas E Downing was formerly Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute's office in Oxford and Reader in the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford. He has extensive experience in climate change and disasters research and assessment, from the first protocol for climate change adaptation to mainstreaming procedures in the African Development Bank. His passion is working with small, innovative groups to find solutions. "Adaptation is a journey, each step counts." Tom now leads development of a new approach to climate change adaptation, the Global Climate Adaptation Partnership. GCAP offers client-driven consultancy, adaptation knowledge management services and training through the Adaptation Academy.
