Nicole Anschell

Research Associate

I joined SEI Asia as Research Associate in September 2019 supporting the Climate Change, Disaster and Development Cluster.
After completing my BA in Disaster Risk Reduction and Food Studies in the USA, I moved to Germany where I received a joint MSc in Geography of Environmental Risk and Human Security from the United Nations University and the University of Bonn. My thesis considered how displacement has been addressed in the international climate change negotiations, focusing on the outcomes of the Task Force on Displacement, which presented recommendations to avert, minimize and address displacement related to the adverse effects of climate change in 2018.
Prior to moving to Bangkok to join SEI Asia, I worked with the Norwegian Refugee Council and the Platform on Disaster Displacement in Geneva, Switzerland.
