Meredith Root-Bernstein

Post-doctoral researcher

I am an interdisciplinary ethnobiologist with an interest in degradation and restoration ecology, conservation, ethnography of human-environment relationships, governance and policy. I focus on mediterranean-climate areas, semi-arid and marginal habitats. I am based in Paris where I work as outreach officer for the BIOVEINS project on urban biodiversity at AgroParisTech, and as a visiting researcher at the Musée de l'Homme in my role as a collaborating researcher for an ECOS-Sur Chile-France cooperation project about the roles of livestock in conservation. I am also an associated post-doc at the Center for Applied Ecology and Sustainabiity in Santiago, Chile. I am interested in developing collaborations and comparative work between Africa and South America.
