Laura M. Hammett is an urban resilience and climate change adaptation specialist whose research and professional experience span the intersection of sustainable land use planning, international development, climate policy and finance, and disaster risk management. Ms. Hammett has a background in urban planning and has worked to support local governance and sustainable land use planning in the Balkans and East Asia. In addition, she has worked to advance resilient natural resource planning programs with the US Air Force, climate adaptation policy with the United Nations World Food Programme, and flood risk management and hazard mitigation planning efforts with various public and private sector organizations. Ms. Hammett completed a Masters of Environmental Management at Yale University and currently works with the United Nations Development Program to develop urban resilience and climate adaptation projects worldwide, with a particular focus on National Adaptation Planning processes and vertical integration of climate adaptation finance and policy.
