C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF)

The C40 Cities Finance Facility (CFF) facilitates access to finance for cities’ infrastructure projects that address the climate crisis. It does this by providing technical assistance to develop cities’ priorities into bankable investment proposals. The CFF was set up in 2015 to support cities in developing and emerging economies to prepare and deliver sustainable, low carbon and climate adaptation projects. It aims to support the development of climate-friendly infrastructure and to use this experience to catalyse further action in other cities. The CFF supports 19 projects in 17 cities around the globe.
The initiative is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group.
