Research Assistant
Juan Antonio Ballesteros Canovas has been working on climate change impact research on medium and high altitude- mountain during last ten years in Peruvian Andes, Guatemala, Spain, Switzerland, Kyrgyzstan, Poland and India. He has participated in several national and international research programs, including Swiss National Science Foundation, Swiss Development Cooperation, European Projects, Spanish Research councils, United Kingdom National Science Foundation and USA National Science Foundation. Dr. Juan Antonio Ballesteros Canovas is moreover co-leader of the Flood Working Group of PAGES. His researcher has been focused on analysing impact related to extreme climate events, with special attention in the hydrological cycle including floods events and land degradation. He is particularly committed to show how the gathered knowledge from the past has a practical use in the design climate adaptation policies related with natural hazards. His results have been published in most relevant scientific journals. His records (04.01.2018) account to 43 peer-reviewed papers with 977 citations and an h-index of 17.
