Funded under the EU FP7 Research Potential theme (Unlocking the potentials of the EU's Convergence regions and Outermost regions) the University of Foggia will target its research towards Agro-Energy in Mediterranean region.
The core aim of the project is to create a scientific facility, interconnected within a scientific and governmental network, in order to enhance the opportunity to undertake research activities according to well-defined strategic guidelines. The core beneficiary is the University of Foggia (Foggia is a small city and provincial captial in the Apuglia region in the south-east of Italy). In addition, six European partner organisations will participate in the following activities: recruitment of researchers into five areas of research (spanning natural and socio-economic disciplines and with a multidisciplinary remit), secondments of technical and research staff (visiting-in and visiting-out periods, organization of workshops to facilitate skills transfer and research collaborations. The participating organisations will also join a project Advisory Board.
The project runs from 1st September 2011 to 31st August 2014.
