The 9th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation (CBA9) took place in Nairobi, Kenya in April 2015. Posters from conference will be added to GICBA, so keep an eye on this space!

The 9th International Conference on Community-Based Adaptation (CBA9) took place in Nairobi, Kenya, from April 24-30 2015. The CBA series of conferences focus on the latest developments in community-based adaptation to climate change. The theme of this year’s event was “Measuring and enhancing effective adaptation”, and all the posters presented at the conference were summaries of projects related to the conference theme. The posters feature projects from all over the world, conducted by many different organizations including: UNDP, Vietnam National University of Agriculture, Tribhuvan University, Nepal, University of Cape Town, ACCCRN Indonesia and many more. Poster competition

During the conference a competition was held to nominate the best poster. The winning poster is from a project in Uganda and is described as follows: “This poster describes a joint partnership of five Netherlands organisations which aims to reduce the impact of natural hazards on vulnerable communities in Uganda. The project aims to enhance adaptation through resilience building, use of appropriate technologies, relationship building, asset buildings, sustaining incomes and managing and conserving natural resources. This is a joint project led by Cordaid (Email: [email protected])”
