Platform summary
The Swedish web portal for climate change adaptation, Klimatanpassning.se, aims to support society and citizens in preparing for the effects of climate change. The portal offers comprehensive information and support within a number of areas.
Klimatanpassning.se contains information about the effects of climate change, descriptions of roles and responsibilities, material for inspiration and education such as games and films. There are also examples of how climate change adaptation can be integrated into the daily work of municipalities, businesses and others. The Swedish version of the portal offers a broad variety of tools and guidance for adaptation.
Host Organisation: Swedish National Knowledge Centre for Climate Change Adaptation, based at the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) - in collaboration with almost thirty national authorities.
Launch date: Approximately 2010
Update status: The Swedish version was revamped in 2019 and a new version of the English portal was launched early 2021.
Funding: Since 2012, the platform is funded by the Swedish National Knowledge Centre for Climate Change Adaptation.
Team: Four persons work on the development and daily maintenance of the platform (20% of full time). Up to forty people contribute to adding content to the platform.

- Providing quantitative data for adaptation decision-making
- Providing decision-support tools for adaptation decision-making
- Providing support (e.g. help desk) service
