Climate Adaptation Training
Training is a key activity to build capacity and empower stakeholders to use climate information in their decision making and help them respond confidently and effectively to climate change. The Climate Adaptation Training theme provides an organised collection of material and links to different training courses, workshops and other guidance.
What is included?
We include material based on longer climate adaptation courses that run as (e.g. annual) meeting series or online e-learning courses; introductory level courses/101s, discussions of concepts, examples, tool summaries etc. are also among the different types of learning products available.
All of the training material published under this theme is open access and available for anyone to use. You may also use the buttons below to share your own content with the climate adaptation community and to discuss any training topics of interest.

Categories
The material covers a range of topics in the areas of climate information analysis, vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning. The theme is divided into five topical categories (based on the PROVIA assessment framework and adapted for our purposes of covering the whole range of activities for which training is needed). Where training covers several of these categories e.g. SENSES Toolkit which covers, risk assessment, adaptation planning and low carbon futures, we have selected the most relevant category. An additional 'category' features articles that are hosted in other parts of the platform and are relevant for this Climate Adaptation Training theme - currently this includes material for learning and training for children and young adults.
Comments
Climate change adaptation is an urgent call of action, yet it is insufficiently funded for poor communities who are for a long time already exposed to the current existing climate stressors and non-climate challenges. This gives me motivation to work with the poor rural and urban communities to contribute in as many ways I can through research and project implementation. I find weADAPT to be an appropriate space I can contribute and learn more from a diverse space of practitioners and experts in the field of climate change adaptation. I shall always be a happy soul to work with interested parties to join in the work of weADAPT locally and across borders.
Many thanks for your positive comments on the value of weADAPT on networking and finding suitable information Noah. Good to hear you share our commitment to providing support on decisions to improve the lives of those most vulnerable to climate change and we are hoping to have increasing content on climate finance and its current challenges. We would be happy to publish any relevant articles or case studies you have on these topics.
