Defining the policy decision framework

Overview

It is likely to be a participatory module that will coach people through questions related to: 1) the aim of climate adaptation? (e.g., climate proofing or climate resilience), 2) the salience of climate in the decision process, 3) procedures and parameters in the decision framework(s), 4) needs and opportunities related to setting policy aims, objectives, targets and monitoring systems, 5) the role of user forums and participation (as in the UKCIP experience), etc. This would begin by identifying what outcomes of this module would link to subsequent analyses.

Concept

  • Producing robust climate adaptation policy
  • Develop a strategy to facilitate good adaptation policy
  • Identify the policy framework
  • Develop portfolios and strategies
  • Communicate risks, envelopes and options
